Reed Smith has had three individuals shortlisted in the WeAreTheCity Top 50 Rising Stars Awards, with the winners in each category set to be announced on 1 September.

The inaugural awards are the first to focus on the UK’s female talent pipeline below management level and will celebrate the 50 female individual contributors who represent the leaders and role models of tomorrow.

Monica Dupont-Barton and Alicia Millar have each been shortlisted for the Rising Stars in Law category.

Monica, who is Of Counsel in the Financial Industry Group, has been instrumental in helping to build Reed Smith’s European leveraged finance practice. She advises financial institutions, private equity and corporate clients on a broad range of cross-border financing transactions across the ratings spectrum. Alicia, meanwhile, is the learning and development manager for the EMEA region. Alicia is co-chair of PRISM, the Reed Smith LGBT forum, and also works closely with the leadership team of WINRS – the firm’s women’s initiative.

Joanna Williams has been shortlisted in the Rising Stars in Banking category. Joanna was recently promoted to Of Counsel in the Financial Markets and Regulatory Group at Reed Smith, specialising in wholesale financial and commodities regulation.

Voting is now open in each category with a deadline of 31 July 2015.
