LONDON – Reed Smith today announced that restructuring and insolvency lawyer Mandip Englund has joined its Financial Industry Group (FIG) as a partner in London. Mandip has acted on a number of high profile cross-border insolvencies and restructurings and her experience includes project financings and distressed work for companies, financial stakeholders, equity sponsors, advisory firms, creditors and insolvency practitioners in relation to strategy, transactions and contentious matters. Her practice includes the financial services, retail, and energy and commodities sectors, industries of specific importance to the firm.

“Mandip’s track record of working on cross-border restructurings and special situations compliments and adds depth to our restructuring and insolvency team in Europe and the US,” said Ed Estrada, global chair of Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group. “Her technical expertise, coupled with an innate ambition for delivering results, will be of great value to our funds and corporate clients, and builds on our historic strength in these areas.”

“We are hugely excited to welcome Mandip to Reed Smith and specifically to our thriving and energetic R&I team,” said Charlotte Møller, co-head of the Restructuring and Insolvency practice within FIG. “We look forward to introducing her to our clients and to working together with her in this space, which continues to be an important focus for the firm.”

In addition to Mandip, Reed Smith has added several highly regarded lawyers with expertise in the special situations space over the past year, including Liz Tabas Carson in January 2019 and Aaron Javian in March 2018.

Mandip formerly served as counsel at Linklaters. She read Law at the University of Nottingham, and obtained her diploma in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School in 2002.
