Honorable served as a commissioner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from December 2014 to June 2017. She served as chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission from January 2011 to January 2015; she was treasurer of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners for two years starting in 2010; and NARUC president for one year starting in 2013 – the first African-American to hold that position in the organization’s 125-year history. She joined Reed Smith in July 2017.

At FERC, Honorable focused on reliability oversight of the bulk power system, cyber and physical security, oversight of wholesale markets, transmission planning and cost allocation in regional transmission organizations, gas-electric coordination, renewables integration, energy storage integration and valuation, enforcement, ratemaking, infrastructure development, and enforcement matters.

Honorable co-leads Reed Smith's FERC and Energy Regulatory team and works in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Her practice areas include energy & natural resources, commodities, commodity and derivatives regulations, and state Attorneys General.

Honorable is a nonresident senior fellow with the Brookings Institution's Energy and Climate Initiative; and a senior fellow with the Bipartisan Policy Center, among other appointments.
