SINGAPORE – Global law firm Reed Smith today announces the hire of Timothy Cooke as partner in its Energy and Natural Resources Group and Singapore office.

With 20 years’ experience Cooke joins from Stephenson Harwood where he was partner. His practice focuses on resolving disputes concerning energy, infrastructure and projects, construction and engineering as well as other commercial disputes.

Having spent the last 15 years in Singapore, Cooke has extensive experience advising both international and Asian clients with investments across Asia, including jurisdictions such as Vietnam, Indonesia, China, India, Malaysia and Myanmar.

Cooke is a barrister and represents clients in international arbitrations under the rules of all the major international arbitration institutions such as the ICC, LCIA and SIAC, and in UNCITRAL and other ad hoc arbitrations. He frequently appears before arbitral tribunals and emergency arbitrators, and sits as arbitrator appointed by parties, institutions and other arbitrators.

Associates Germaine Chia and Khyati Raniwala from Stephenson Harwood will also join the Energy and Natural Resources Group and Singapore office.
