PHILADELPHIA – Reed Smith welcomed three partners from Greenberg Traurig to its global Labor and Employment Group in Philadelphia: James Boudreau, who served as co-chair of that firm’s global Labor and Employment practice, Adam Roseman and Christiana Signs. The team is nationally recognized for its defense of employers in cutting-edge labor and employment matters. The three have extensive experience defending employers in employment-related class actions, sophisticated trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, and government regulatory investigations.

“Jim, Adam and Christy bring to the firm a well-known and highly successful track record in complex employment litigation, and exceptional counsel on compliance matters, which will help us better serve clients nationwide,” said Cindy Schmitt Minniti, chair of Reed Smith’s global Labor and Employment Group. “Adding a longstanding, battle-tested employment team, with its reputation for doing cutting-edge work, will only enhance Reed Smith’s great brand in the Philadelphia region. It’s a win-win that will continue to fuel the growth of our employment practice.”

The Philadelphia trio is the latest addition to Reed Smith’s growing bench of employment-related talent. In April, the firm added Labor and Employment partner David Long-Daniels to its newly opened Atlanta office. In January, Ryan Gorman and Scott Wagner, who focus on employee benefits and executive compensation matters, joined as part of the inaugural group that launched the Atlanta location, further expanding the firm’s capabilities in workplace-related matters.

“Adding this highly regarded employment team with a national practice in Philadelphia is key to the firm’s strategic growth plan,” said Joe Mahady, Philadelphia office managing partner. “Jim, Adam and Christy are well known in the business and legal communities and we are thrilled they have joined the firm.”

Boudreau is a nationally ranked management-side labor and employment lawyer, honored as a BTI Client Service All Star, a Benchmark Litigation Labor and Employment Star, and one of its Top 50 Labor and Employment Litigators. He is also ranked by Chambers & Partners for Labor and Employment in Pennsylvania.

Boudreau’s practice involves leading large teams of attorneys in defending employers in nationwide class and collective wage and hour actions, as well as class actions under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). He also devotes a significant portion of his practice to complex trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation and has taken several such matters to final judgment. Boudreau has garnered a national reputation for forging creative solutions to complex employment disputes and is well known for staying ahead of cutting-edge issues that may impact national employers. He received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Bowdoin College, and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.

“Many things attracted us to Reed Smith. Apart from being impressed by the firm’s vibrant culture and the clear excitement generated by its recent growth that we heard as we spoke to people across the firm, we see a great long-term growth opportunity here for us in Philadelphia,” said Boudreau. “Reed Smith enjoys a great brand in the region, and we are really excited by the fact that the firm’s global managing partner is an employment lawyer herself, an obvious manifestation of the firm’s understanding of, and commitment to, the practice.”

Roseman represents companies nationwide in litigation involving safety and health investigations and citations alleging OSHA violations, often involving significant workplace accidents and fatalities. He is widely regarded for his people-focused, pragmatic approach to litigation and solving clients’ safety and health issues. He received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Pennsylvania State University, and a J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers University School of Law.
