Hadas advises funds, banks, money services businesses, payments companies, virtual currency businesses and other financial services providers on a variety of regulatory compliance issues. She has particular experience with federal and state anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations, with a focus on the Bank Secrecy Act, as amended by the USA PATRIOT Act, the AML Act of 2020 and the Corporate Transparency Act. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Hadas practiced in the Bank Regulatory Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. Hadas has also served as a Senior Assistant Deputy Superintendent in the Consumer Protection and Financial Enforcement Division of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), as well as a Senior Attorney in the Department's Office of General Counsel. She also handled applications by foreign banking organizations with New York State-licensed branches that wished to restructure their U.S. operations and worked with foreign and federal bank regulators to assess the resolution plans of foreign banks with New York State-licensed branches. Hadas started her career as a tax and litigation associate at a New York-based firm.
