He has extensive experience drafting wills, revocable (“living”) trusts, irrevocable trusts, beneficiary designations, powers of attorney for property and health care, buy-sell agreements, and agreements for family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.
Mike values the importance of comprehensive estate planning for his clients in achieving their personal and financial goals. With deep understanding of the nuances of estate planning, he addresses their unique personal and family circumstances as well as any gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning opportunities. He advises clients on lifetime giving strategies, prepares gift tax returns, assists individuals and families with the formation and administration of family offices and private foundations, advises on sophisticated charitable giving strategies, and provides guidance to charitable organizations on governance issues.
Mike advises executors and trustees on the performance of their fiduciary duties. He often represents executors in probate court, advises trustees with respect to trust administration matters, and prepares estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. In addition to being an attorney, Mike is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant, husband and father of five.
