Liyun focuses her practice in health care and life sciences on a range of regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters. With an emphasis on representing compounding pharmacies, her work includes advising on FDA and DEA regulation, state and federal fraud and abuse applications , and regulatory support on mergers and acquisitions.
Liyun has extensive experience in representing clients throughout data privacy and security risk assessments, fraud and abuse risk identification, CPOM applications, licensure analyses, reimbursement considerations, and other applicable federal and state regulatory reviews.
Liyun has acquired a thorough understanding of health care law through assisting with fact investigations for various litigation and transactional matters, drafting briefs and written discoveries, as well as due diligence summaries and memoranda.
Prior to joining the firm, Liyun gained extensive health care experience as a family nurse practitioner in the largest multi-specialty, physician-directed medical group in the Midwest and later as a clinical manager at a specialty pharmacy. Liyun approaches clients' legal issues with a real-world perspective.
During her time in law school, Liyun was a member of the Chicago-Kent College of Law Moot Court, APALSA, and was a recipient of the Women’s Bar Foundation of Illinois’ 2022 Scholarship and the CALI Award in Remedies (for the highest grade in class). She also served as an intern for the Honorable John R. Blakey and at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
