ATLANTA – Reed Smith, a global law firm, today announced that Nick Roecker has joined its Financial Industry Group as a partner in its Atlanta office. Roecker brings more than a decade of experience representing financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate issuers in complex lending transactions. Roecker’s addition continues the firm’s strategic expansion of its finance capabilities.

Roecker joins Reed Smith from Alston & Bird, where he advised clients on leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, asset-based financings, investment-grade credit facilities and other types of debt financing across various industries and sectors.

"Nick is a great addition to our growing team, where we have seen strong demand for our finance and transactional services since launching the office," said Amie Singer, Reed Smith's Atlanta Office Managing Partner. "He has a stellar reputation in the market and has worked closely with many of our existing clients and colleagues in the past. We are delighted to have him on board."

Reed Smith opened its Atlanta office in January 2025, establishing a strong foundation for the firm’s expansion into the Southeast region.

“We are thrilled to add Nick to our deep bench of private equity and finance lawyers in Atlanta," said Julie Hardin, Reed Smith's Managing Partner—Americas. "Nick’s national practice and strong ties to the local market will immediately expand our client offering, as we continue to grow our talented team in the market."

"Nick's practice aligns perfectly with our global Financial Industry Group, which offers clients a full range of capabilities in the areas of finance, restructuring, litigation, regulation and transactions," said Keith Aurzada, global co-lead of that group. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in handling sophisticated and cross-border financing deals for banks and private equity groups. With his strong relationships with many of our clients, he will be a great asset to both them and our firm.”

Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group has over 200 lawyers who are experienced in every aspect of the financial sector. The group advises banks and financial institutions on finance, lending, investment management, restructuring and insolvency, regulatory and litigation transactions across the globe.

"I am thrilled to join Reed Smith and its impressive global finance practice," said Roecker. "I have enjoyed working with many of the team members before and look forward to collaborating with them again. I am also excited to leverage Reed Smith's global platform and resources to serve my clients and expand my practice."

Roecker earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where he was elected to the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and received the CALI Award for Excellence in Partnership Taxation. He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in finance and a minor in political science.
