Jalen graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. During law school, Jalen served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Sara Ellis, of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He was also recognized for his oral advocacy skills in several moot court competitions.

Jalen was appointed to sit on the Executive Council for Diversity & Inclusion for Loyola University. Additionally, Jalen served as a mentor for diverse students from the inner-city of Chicago enrolled in Community College.

Currently, Jalen is a member of the Chicago Committee Associate Board, which provides professional development and aims to cultivate the community of minority lawyers in leading law firms through programming and leadership opportunities.
