Michael is a problem solver for distressed companies and the creditors that they owe. His calm temperament helps to bring consensus at the negotiating table, and his exacting trial skills serve to enforce his client’s position when negotiation fails.
Michael’s broad practice includes engagements by debtors, lenders, landlords, and committees, and his industry experience includes multifamily and commercial real estate; hospitals, assisted living, and managed care clients; retail; and oil and gas. In addition to structuring and negotiating complex (and sometimes unique) chapter 11 plans, Michael is a patient negotiator and a tireless courtroom advocate, and has litigated numerous multi-day bankruptcy trials to verdict.
