Thor Maalouf

Thor focuses on commercial litigation and arbitration in the shipping and aviation sectors.

As a partner in the Shipping and Transportation Group, her advice helps clients to reach pragmatic and commercial solutions to disputes, but she also has in-depth experience of mediation, litigation in the English courts, and LMAA arbitration.

Thor has a diverse range of clients, including global commodities traders, international mining companies, shipping companies, P&I clubs, investment funds interested in shipping and aviation, investment banks with trading arms, shipowners, luxury yacht brokers and their clients, and aircraft lessors. Working with such diverse clients has given Thor unusually broad experience and expertise within the shipping and aviation industry.

Thor joined the firm as a trainee in August 2007 and became a partner in January 2021.

Away from the office, Thor is a natural leader, having served in the Army Reserves for several years and currently volunteering as a Girl Guide leader. Thor’s drive and determination are also channelled into her extracurricular activities, which include triathlons and yacht sailing.

Thor was named an Associate to Watch in Shipping Law by Chambers and Partners in 2016- 2018 and has been a named practitioner in Chambers and Partners since becoming a partner in 2021 up to 2025/26. Thor has been named as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500 from 2022-2025/26.
