The deadlines for filing assessment appeal applications in California for the 2018-19 “regular” roll assessments are quickly approaching. The deadlines this year are September 17 in some counties and November 30 in others.

This presentation will (i) cover the background of Proposition 13 as well as Proposition 8 “decline in value” assessments; (ii) provide guidelines for determining when you should appeal current property tax assessments; and (iii) explain in detail the property tax assessment appeal process in California.
