International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of partner Michael Fosh to its corporate & securities group in its Beijing office (known as Reed Smith Richards Butler). Michael joins the firm on 4th January 2010 from Herbert Smith, where he was chief representative of the firm’s Beijing operation.

Michael is a renowned capital markets lawyer in the Greater China region who has led teams on several landmark transactions including the world's largest IPO, the listing of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). He has been representing a number of large China-based companies as well as private equity and sovereign wealth funds.

Michael has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and corporate finance work in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including in the fields of private equity and strategic investments. He is a native English speaker and also speaks Mandarin (Putonghua) and Cantonese.
