(February 18, 2011, USA) - Five partners at Reed Smith LLP - John P. Hooper, James J. Restivo, Jr., Robert A. Roth, Peter Teare and Richard W. Wray - have been named 2011 BTI Client Service All-Stars by BTI Consulting Group.

"We are exceptionally proud of our partners and delighted that their superior service to clients earned each of them this well-deserved recognition," said Gregory B. Jordan, Reed Smith's Global Managing Partner.  "Establishing and sustaining strong client relationships is fundamental to our business, and these lawyers' efforts exemplify this important commitment."

Mr. Wray, who is based in the firm's Chicago office, is a commercial litigator whose practice for more than a decade has focused on national complex product liability litigation.  Another Chicago-based partner, Mr. Roth is an experienced trial lawyer who previously served as Chair of the Firm's Midwest Commercial Litigation Practice Group.

Mr. Restivo is a commercial litigator in the firm's Pittsburgh office.  His practice focuses on complex insurance coverage disputes, securities and bank litigation and general commercial disputes. Mr. Hooper is based in the firm's New York office.  His practice includes defending companies in complex litigations, including a variety of commercial, product liability, financial services, intellectual property cases and consumer class actions for which he has served as national, regional and/or local counsel.  Mr. Teare is based in the firm's London office; his practice focuses on the communications, technology, defense and nuclear sectors.  His experience includes advising on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, financings and private equity investments, as well as structuring and negotiating commercial transactions.

The five Reed Smith honorees are among just 318 lawyers from 201 firms on the 2011 Client Service All-Star Team.  According to BTI, this year's All-Stars are distinguished by their client focus, exceptional understanding of their clients' business issues, outstanding results, outsized value, and legal skills.

BTI does not accept law firm submissions, attorney self-nominations or law firm suggestions in selecting All-Stars.  The only path to this singular recognition is for corporate counsel and C-level executives to spontaneously nominate a law firm attorney as part of BTI's independent research.  In 2011, BTI interviewed nearly 300 corporate counsel from Fortune 1000 companies spanning more than 15 industries before naming its annual team.
