April 8, 2015 – Reed Smith today announced the addition of George D. Pavlenishvili as a partner in its Corporate & Transactional Advisory Group (CTAG) in New York. He was formerly a partner in the Energy Group at Stoel Rives LLP in Washington, D.C.

Pavlenishvili counsels U.S and foreign financial institutions, project entities and governmental authorities in project finance, structured transactions and financings, as well as acquisitions and divestitures. Before joining Stoel Rives, he practiced at DLA Piper in New York and worked at high-profile investment banks including Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Cantor Fitzgerald.

A 2006 graduate of LL.M. program at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and the 1998 graduate of Odessa Law Academy, Odessa, Ukraine , Pavlenishvili represents financial institutions, developers, and equity investors in relation to corporate and finance, including project finance and mergers and acquisitions, with particular emphasis on energy transactions.
In addition to holding an MBA in financial management from Lubin School of Business, Pace University, he is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.
With global project finance experience -- including the representation of project sponsors, developers, commercial banks, investment banks, underwriters, sovereigns, and borrowers in diverse transactions involving industrial development projects, infrastructure, natural resources, mining, manufacturing, transportation, and energy -- Pavlenishvili is exceptionally qualified for his new role at Reed Smith. His experience with mergers and acquisitions is also broad, extending to representation of acquirers, targets, and investors in public and private mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and acquisition financing. In addition, he has extensive experience with energy and power that encompasses solar, wind, biofuel, coal and gas-fired facilities.
