NEW YORK – Reed Smith announced today that Steven Bleiberg has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry Group in New York. Bleiberg’s arrival adds significant heft to the firm’s industry leading global fund finance practice and marks a major step towards the growth of the practice’s U.S. capabilities.

Bleiberg, who joins from Cadwalader, represents banks and financial institutions as lenders in structuring, negotiating and documenting subscription credit facilities, bespoke NAV credit facilities, cascading pledge facilities and other types of facilities for private equity funds. He has also represented lenders and borrowers in commercial lending and other financing transactions, including secured lending transactions, syndicated bank financings, receivables financings and structured commodity finance transactions. Bleiberg is also focused on innovation and emerging technologies impacting financing transactions, including blockchain technology.
