Keturah Brown, an energy and environmental associate with Reed Smith, has been elected president of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE DC).

Brown, an associate in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group, will serve a two-year term as president of AABE DC. For the past two years, Brown served the chapter as secretary.

Brown focuses on regulatory matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and state public service commissions. Her practice involves numerous Natural Gas Act and Federal Power Act issues.

AABE DC’s mission is to provide energy professionals, attorneys, executives, entrepreneurs, policy professionals, engineers, and students a pathway to learn more about the energy industry through education, mentoring, advocacy, community service, and business networking.

AABE DC serves a diverse membership drawn from companies, law firms, nonprofits, federal and state government agencies, educational institutions, and other energy-related organizations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
