LONDON – Global law firm Reed Smith has been named in The Times Best Law Firms 2023 rankings, which are based on peer reviews from across the legal industry.

In addition to its listing, the firm was commended for its commercial dispute resolution practice.

The Times cited significant matters worked on by Reed Smith over the last year, including advising Apollo Global Management on a $4 billion private credit arrangement with SoftBank.

Its work advising Starz Real Estate on a £220 million deal to deliver the first commercial real estate collateralised loan obligation in Europe was also mentioned.

Reed Smith’s pro bono efforts were referenced, with The Times highlighting the firm’s work in representing the human rights organisation Channel Rescue on its successful legal challenge to stop the UK government’s migrant “pushback” policy. The policy would have given border force patrols the power to intercept migrant vessels in the Channel and take them back to France.
