Barlas, an associate in Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group, advises investment banks, specialty lenders, issuers, sponsors, mortgage loan sellers and real estate investors on real estate transactions, commercial mortgaged-backed securities and similar debt securities. He has also represented strategic buyers and sellers as well as private equity funds in the acquisition and sale of both public and private targets. Barlas currently serves as member of the board of directors for the Miami-Dade Bar’s Young Lawyer Section (YLS).

A fifth-year associate in Reed Smith’s Insurance Recovery Group, Gopiao focuses her litigation practice on liability and property claims for corporate, commercial, and residential policyholders, with an emphasis on data and network security and privacy liability (cyber liability) matters. She is also a member of the On Chain: Crypto and Digital Assets Group. Gopiao currently serves as the secretary of the Miami Dade Bar YLS, co-chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and is a director for Suited for Success / Dress for Success Miami. She is also a Class X fellow for the Florida Bar Leadership Academy.

Barlas and Gopiao will be recognized at an award ceremony during the Miami-Dade Bar YLS ‘Miami Nights’ event on February 23rd at the Coral Gables Museum.
