Lauren focuses her practice on civil litigation. She has experience litigating civil matters involving breach of contract, fair housing issues, protective orders, structural defect claims for condominiums, real property issues, trust and estate disputes, and a variety of business torts. Lauren has both first- and second-chair trial experience, and experience briefing and arguing motions in Virginia state trial courts at all levels. She also has experience at the appellate level, having briefed appeals in the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Lauren served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William T. Newman, Jr. (Ret.) of the Arlington County Circuit Court, where she gained firsthand insight into Virginia’s civil and criminal procedures. She then spent nearly six years serving as general counsel and litigation counsel to community associations across Virginia and Washington, D.C. She advised clients on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, covenant enforcement, real property disputes, and contract negotiations, while also representing associations in litigation before Virginia trial and appellate courts. Most recently, she expanded her practice to include fiduciary litigation, trust and estate litigation, and general commercial litigation.
