Reed Smith has launched a new podcast that will help everyone involved with the energy sector manage the transition away from fossil fuels.

Energy Explored covers the challenges of cutting emissions of pollutants and setting up new energy systems on the way to a carbon-neutral global economy. Reed Smith lawyers and guest speakers will shed light on the most important trends in emissions control and new fuels.

The initial episodes build off topics covered in Energy Transition – An evolving journey, a 15-article report published in late June analyzing what government and markets can do to help bring about a decarbonized world and what role the energy industry will play.

In the first episode, partner Colette Honorable and counsel Debra Palmer discuss the role of transmission development in the U.S. clean energy transition and note the latest efforts of the White House and FERC under President Biden to promote clean energy and fight climate change. They draw on years of experience to examine the transition’s implications on the regulated community.

Subsequent episodes over the next few weeks will be devoted to:

  • The nuclear new build renaissance, featuring partner Peter Rosher and associates Liam Hart and Vanessa Thieffry
  • Scaling up carbon-neutral fossil fuels market, featuring partners James Atkin and Adam Hedley and associate Terry Prempeh
