Ali is a senior associate in the Global Commercial Disputes Group in the firm’s London office.
Ali’s practice focuses on regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, professional negligence claims and general commercial litigation and arbitration (including disputes involving states and state-owned entities).
Since joining, Ali has been involved in cases relating to the energy, construction and telecoms sectors. Ali also has extensive experience in both internal and regulator-initiated investigations, of both a domestic and cross-border nature and has acted for clients in connection with a variety of investigations (across different jurisdictions) including those involving HMRC, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the Financial Regulatory Council (FRC), and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Ali is part of the firm’s global regulatory enforcement group (GRE).
Ali’s recent experience includes work on complex shareholder disputes, FCPA-related investigations work, and the representation of a state client in an investment-treaty claim.
Ali has been ranked as an “Associate to Watch” in Chambers UK 2022-2023 for Corporate and Commercial Litigation. He has been noted as “extremely diligent”, someone whose “drafting is excellent” and who “is very personable”. He “is very committed and always there to provide advice”.
