The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most significant reform to data protection law for 20 years.  With fines up to €20 million possible, as well as enhanced rights for individuals, it will have a major impact on the pensions sector, where information of the most sensitive kind is held about large of individuals. The GDPR comes into force on 25 May 2018 and there is much to consider before that date.

Please join Reed Smith's webinar on 29 June, 3:30 pm BST to learn about the following topics:

  • Consent - why current consent and privacy notices may not be GDPR-ready
  • Transparency requirements for organisations
  • Why the GDPR is a game-changer for service providers, and what this means if you use them
  • What the new rules on profiling mean for pension schemes, and when will you need to conduct privacy impact assessments
  • When a data protection officer is required
  • New requirements to report data security breaches within 72 hours
  • Enhanced sanctions regime
