Eighty-one lawyers from Reed Smith LLP were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2007 (Copyright 2006 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.).  Of these, 12 are included on the list for the first time; 22 have been listed 10 years or more; and 8 have earned this distinction for at least two decades.

The 2007 edition is the thirteenth of the publication and the second to be published on an annual basis. Prior to 2005, the list was published every other year. 

The selection of individuals for inclusion on the Best Lawyers list is based on a peer-review process in which more than 18,000 leading attorneys throughout the country cast more than a half million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties. Half the votes are either by fax or email and the other half are solicited by telephone.

Lawyers voting include those who have been nominated sua sponte during the year since the previous survey, lawyers who have been nominated but not included on the list in the prior year, new nominations solicited from the 18,000 plus attorneys listed in the previous edition and all the lawyers whose names appeared in the previous edition of Best Lawyers.
