Reed Smith has been shortlisted for two categories in this year's The Law Society Excellence Awards. Carolyn Pepper is on the short list of candidates for Women Lawyer of the Year. Her nomination follows an outstanding year in which she advised on the Dame Janet Smith Review regarding Jimmy Savile, and was elected to the firm’s global Executive Committee. Carolyn has also cemented her role as a strong role model, from supporting women returning after maternity leave (by leading our Returners policy), to her work with Law Society’s Lawyers with Disabilities Division and our Disability Task Force. This follows Carolyn’s award as a Champion of Diversity by WeAreTheCity earlier this year. Also, Reed Smith's Deal Performance Platform™ (DPP) is shortlisted for Excellence in Technology. The DPP is our client extranet solution devised by a team led by partner Jeff Page, CIO Steve Agnoli and CKO Lucy Dillon. Dave Pulice, Charissa Blaine and Ann Rock from the Practice Innovation team were also key in the successful deployment of this product. This follows shortlistings in the Legal Week Innovation Awards in May of this year and in The Lawyer Business Leadership Awards.
