PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 31, 2017 – Carolyn Short, a partner in Reed Smith’s Complex Litigation Group and Rudolf “Rudy” Hutz, counsel in the firm’s IP, Tech, and Data practice were both recently selected as recipients of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s inaugural “Best of the Bar” Awards. The “Best of the Bar” Awards were created to recognize attorneys in Greater Philadelphia who handled legal matters that had a significant business impact.
Carolyn, who graced the cover of the October 20th issue of the Philadelphia Business Journal in which the 40 honorees were announced, was recognized for leading a team representing Uber in multiple lawsuits including:
- Defending the request for a preliminary injunction by Philadelphia taxicab and dispatch companies seeking to discontinue Uber’s operations in the city
- Securing a significant win for Uber in the Third Circuit in a related appeal
