“We are delighted. Growing our complex litigation practice, as well as expanding our presence in New York, are priorities for the firm, and the addition of this very experienced team certainly helps us make progress toward that end,” said Sandy Thomas, Reed Smith’s global managing partner. “Each of these attorneys brings to our firm an impeccable reputation as a top-notch litigator who has helped clients through precedent-setting and high stakes trials and arbitral proceedings.”
Solomon joins as Head of International Litigation - US and will continue to publish his renowned e-book, International Litigation: Topics and Trends, as well as his OneWorld international practice blog. The team will help clients navigate business controversies with international touchpoints and will continue their representation of clients in complex trials, which have included over a dozen multi-billion dollar matters.
“In Reed Smith we found an unmatched combination of a robust and growing international platform, where we are joining stellar litigators around the world; outstanding general litigation and trial practice areas; and a firm whose very DNA fosters an environment of collaboration and teamwork, which we value and respect,” said Solomon. “We couldn’t be more pleased, or more honored, than to join Reed Smith’s dynamic journey as a firm with a truly global reach and a deeply human touch”.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lou, Colin, and Michael to Reed Smith,” said Peter M. Ellis, Chair of Reed Smith’s Complex Litigation Group. “These three first-in-class attorneys add significant litigation and trial capabilities in the New York office and to our deep litigation practice, and along with our current group of talented and seasoned trial lawyers, will significantly enhance our ability to serve the complex and cross border litigation needs of our clients.”
This year, Reed Smith was again recognized by Law360’s “2017 Global 20” as one of the leading law firms with the biggest international presence and “the global expertise to handle complex cross-border matters spanning multiple time zones.”
“It’s hard to overstate the significance of this move in bolstering our US and global litigation capabilities,” said Doug Cameron, Chair of Reed Smith’s Global Litigation Department. “Clients expect the firms they entrust as counsel to be able to provide them with high caliber legal guidance on matters both domestic and global.
