Joining from Ashurst, the tax lawyer and Steuerberater (tax adviser) with more than 20 years’ experience, is recognised among the industry for advising investors in real estate, alternative investments and funds, in addition to supporting clients on private equity, venture capital matters and cross-border M&A transactions. He also has considerable experience counselling clients on tax issues regarding securitizations, VAT and withholding taxes.
Bünning, who will be based in Frankfurt, has advised a broad range of clients including DIF Management B.V., North Channel Bank GmbH & Co K.G. and Redevco B.V.

Bünning studied Law at the University of Freiburg and qualified in 1992 before he gained a PhD in Law in 1996, and was admitted to the bar as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) in 1996. He then passed the Tax Advisors Examination and was admitted to practise as a tax advisor (Steuerberater) in 2001.
Bünning will be joined by Carina Park an experienced associate who is qualified as a German lawyer and Steuerberater (tax adviser). She also joins from Ashurst.
