Mantine is the global chair of Reed Smith’s antitrust and competition team. An accomplished antitrust partner with nearly 20 years of experience, she represents clients in antitrust criminal and civil enforcement and litigation matters, as well as handling regulatory and transactional issues for manufacturing companies, insurers and financial institutions. She also serves as global chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Network, furthering Reed Smith’s commitment to providing an inclusive workplace for all.

“It is fitting that Michelle is being recognized for her many professional accomplishments, as well as for her strong and continuing record of high-impact service to the Greater Pittsburgh area,” said Casey Ryan, the firm’s global managing partner. “Michelle’s legal acumen and dynamic representation have made a positive difference for hundreds of businesses; her dedication to the common good has made Pittsburgh a better place for thousands of adults and children; and her many contributions to Reed Smith as a leader, mentor and role model have made us a better law firm. This award is exceptionally well-deserved.”

A native of Pittsburgh, Mantine has a long and deep history of volunteer engagement in the region. One of her most significant commitments is to the local chapter of the March of Dimes. During her leadership of the chapter’s major fundraiser, the Pittsburgh Signature Chefs Auction—including serving as 2021 vice chair, 2022 chair, and a 2023 and 2024 executive leadership team member—the event has raised about $1.4 million to support advocacy, educational programs, medical research and the provision of health care services that advance and protect the health and welfare of mothers and infants. In 2023, Mantine began a three-year term on the board of the Western Pennsylvania market of the March of Dimes; in 2024, she chaired the market’s Nominating, Recruiting and Volunteer Engagement Committee; this year, she chairs the market board’s Movement Committee, which is responsible for volunteer recruitment and engagement and awareness-raising.

Mantine is also an active member of Women United and the Bridges Society of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, one of the nation’s largest donor networks. In addition, she serves as a table captain for Austin’s Playroom Lunch, which sponsors 44 safe and engaging spaces in hospitals and medical facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania for children experiencing a hospital stay or visiting someone who is. Mantine previously served as a board member of YWCA Greater Pittsburgh and continues to support the nonprofit as an external adviser.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Pittsburgh Business Times,” said Mantine. “I owe much of my success as an attorney and community leader to my own role models, the Reed Smith attorneys who have mentored me along the way. They impressed upon me the need to pay it forward by mentoring others and supporting the community where I live and work. Today, it’s all about supporting others to achieve success and thrive.”

A 2006 graduate of Duquesne University’s Thomas R. Klein School of Law, Mantine has earned numerous awards. Earlier this year, she was honored as Woman of the Year by the Women’s Law Association at the Kline School of Law. In 2024, she received the Women, Influence and Power in Law Mentor & Mentee Collaboration Award from Corporate Counsel. In 2023, she was named Best Law Firm Mentor in The Legal Intelligencer’s Pennsylvania Legal Awards.
