Luke is a new associate in the firm’s Global Commercial Disputes group. He has experience conducting research or writing memoranda on various procedural issues and substantive legal topics related to breach of contract, data privacy, and intellectual property.
Luke graduated cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joe Billy McDade, of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and as the Executive Notes & Comments Editor at the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality. Luke was an active member of the LGBTQ+ Project, where he helped Indiana citizens obtain name and gender-marker changes on their state-issued IDs. He earned recognition from Maurer Law School for completing over 60 hours of pro bono service as a student.
Pro bono matters are also part of Luke’s practice at Reed Smith. He has assisted people seek asylum, and he has conducted research for a team representing journalists suing a police department over their use of less-than-lethal force on journalists at protests in the summer of 2020 and spring of 2021. Currently, Luke helps an incarcerated person seek habeas corpus relief.
