Luke graduated cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joe Billy McDade, of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and as the Executive Notes & Comments Editor at the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality. Luke was an active member of the LGBTQ+ Project, where he helped Indiana citizens obtain name and gender-marker changes on their state-issued IDs. He earned recognition from Maurer Law School for completing over 60 hours of pro bono service as a student.

Pro bono matters are also part of Luke’s practice at Reed Smith. He has assisted people seek asylum, and he has conducted research for a team representing journalists suing a police department over their use of less-than-lethal force on journalists at protests in the summer of 2020 and spring of 2021. Currently, Luke helps an incarcerated person seek habeas corpus relief.
