Alexandra advises life sciences and health care organizations in tort and commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution, regulatory matters, and fraud and abuse investigations, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical and medical device product liability litigation. She combines her legal experience with her education in health sector management and work in pharmaceutical market research to understand and respond to the legal and commercial challenges facing industry clients.
Her litigation experience spans the litigation lifecycle, from drafting pleadings to supporting trials. She has significant experience with discovery matters, including propounding and responding to written discovery requests, taking fact witness depositions, preparing company witnesses for deposition testimony, and conducting e-discovery. Alexandra also has experience drafting both dispositive and non-dispositive motions and with case assessment for mediation and settlement negotiations.
In addition to her litigation and dispute resolution work, Alexandra has advised clients on regulatory and compliance issues. Most recently, she has counseled pharmacy clients on reproductive health matters following the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.
During law school, Alexandra interned with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Fraud Section and a boutique healthcare law firm. She also participated in the University of Virginia School of Law’s Health & Disability Law Clinic in partnership with the Legal Aid Justice Center. Prior to law school, Alexandra worked in pharmaceutical market research and later as an analyst for Reed Smith’s Client Value team. She has experience with legal project management and a variety of alternative fee arrangements.
Alexandra maintains an active pro bono practice, through which she has represented and counseled immigrant youth in partnership with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and individuals in police brutality and criminal justice matters.
