Susan supports clients on transactions from inception to closing, providing pragmatic and commercial legal advice. She works with clients across the spectrum of transactional shipping matters, including debt financings, private equity investments, sale and leasebacks, and joint ventures. She has acted for investors in several high-profile secondary debt acquisitions and the subsequent restructuring and enforcement of loans under the acquired facilities.

Susan has extensive experience acting for owners on Chinese shipbuilding contracts and lease financings, and regularly acts for buyers and sellers on sale and purchase transactions of commercial vessels. Susan has a particular interest in green financing and working with entrants to newer markets, such as offshore wind.

Her clients comprise investment funds, banks, shipowners, charterers, and ship managers.

Susan is also the partner champion of the firm’s pro bono Statelessness Project.

Away from the office, Susan is an avid supporter of Arsenal F.C.
