Christian is a leading partner in Reed Smith’s Entertainment & Media Industry Group. Christian’s practice focuses primarily on transactions in the film, television, new media, podcast, video game, e-sports, and sports industries.
He represents institutional lenders and financiers, Fortune 500 companies, and high net worth individuals in connection with complex debt facilities, production financing loans, and equity financing opportunities in the entertainment and media space.
Christian also works closely with top-tier studios, networks, video game publishers, and production companies in all aspects of rights acquisition, development, financing, production, and distribution.
On the talent side, Christian assists actors, on-screen talent, reality participants, directors, writers, producers, department heads, and athletes in negotiating their services in production related agreements in connection with audiovisual, audio, and name, image, likeness (NIL) endorsement projects.
Christian has been recognized as a top advisor in each of Variety’s annual Dealmakers Impact Report and Legal Impact Report; and each of The Legal 500’s and Chambers USA’s annual ranking of U.S. media and entertainment transactional attorneys.
Christian’s clients have included Emmy Award, Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG Award, Sundance Audience Award, Sundance Grand Jury Prize, Cannes Grand Prize of the Jury, and Independent Spirit Award nominees and winners.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Christian was a partner at the New York City entertainment boutique law firm, Gray Krauss Sandler Des Rochers LLP, and previously practiced with the specialty finance groups at Dewey Ballantine LLP and Lowenstein Sandler LLP in New York City. Christian received his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
