Gaby is a senior associate in Reed Smith’s Transportation Industry Group, in the firm’s London office. She has been at Reed Smith since 2010 and was nominated for the “We are the City Rising Stars Award” in 2022.
In addition to significant experience with High Court proceedings, Gaby’s practice covers all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including international arbitration. She coordinates cross-border litigation and manages large teams.
Her areas of focus include:
- The maritime sector: Gaby assists clients in obtaining practical and commercial solutions to a full range of maritime disputes globally. This includes those relating to charters, memoranda of agreement (sale and purchase) and bills of lading. She acts for owners, charterers, managers, cargo interests, bunker suppliers/purchasers, P&I clubs, brokers and finance banks/funds.
- Global enforcement: She frequently devises asset recovery strategies on a global basis. She is adept at liaising with investigation agents in order to track down assets in a cost-effective way and then capturing those assets. She frequently assists clients in securing freezing orders, arresting vessels, obtaining liens and attachments, etc.
- Aviation litigation: Gaby focuses on complex cross-border disputes relating to lease agreements, redelivery disputes, detaining aircraft, and commercial disputes with third party suppliers. She concentrates on aircraft lessors and lessees, financiers and the major transportation banks, insurers, maintenance repair and overhaul organizations, airports and airline associations.
- Superyachts: Her focus includes construction litigation relating to build contracts (including warranty claims and yard liabilities) and charter disputes arising from the general operation of a yacht (MYBA terms, etc.).
Gaby has a particular focus on Israel and the Middle East. She has been seconded to Hapag-Lloyd in Hamburg and SIMSL in London. She is commonly asked to speak at events and contribute articles.
