PARIS – Reed Smith advised Seaboard Overseas Limited on the acquisition of Grands Moulins de Dakar, the leading milling industry in Senegal, and Grands Moulins d’Abidjan, the principal flour producer in Côte d’Ivoire. The acquisition was for approximately €317 million.

These two companies were part of the Mimran group, founded over 60 years ago and one of the largest agri-food groups in West Africa. It operates sugar refineries, flour mills and animal feed plants. 

Seaboard Overseas Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seaboard Corporation, is a Fortune 500 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, operating worldwide. Its main business activities include the processing and production of prime quality pork and turkey products, maritime container transport and the processing of international trade in cereals.
