Vaibhav has experience in advising on State Aid and Public Procurement obligations, Risk Management, drafting Policies and Risk Exposure Profiles. He has also advised on the Light Touch Regime, De Minimis State Aid Rules and Collaboration Agreements. He has worked on EU Merger Filing Notifications to get clearance from the EU Commission. Vaibhav's practice also includes public interest tests, national security concerns and price control references, key legal themes that have characterised the competition landscape in recent years. Vaibhav is recognised as a key lawyer in the area of EU and Competition by The Legal 500 UK, where he is recommended for his ‘impressive‘ knowledge of state aid and FDI compliance. Vaibhav has also advised on aspects of Fund Marketing such as pre-marketing, marketing, reverse solicitation and passporting. He has worked on due diligence, financial promotions, Capital requirement regulation, as well as corporate lending services. Vaibhav also works on business development and knowledge management initiatives for the Competition practice.
Vaibhav has trained at Reed Smith LLP sitting in Admiralty, Banking & Finance, Knowledge Management, Competition and Antitrust, as well as Financial Regulation. He qualified in September 2018 focusing on Competition, Financial Regulation and Knowledge Management.
He has co-authored many articles and client alerts published both internally and externally. Vaibhav is an active participant in our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and is the Associate Chair of our LEADRS group. He was named winner of the “Future Leader: D&I” category at the 2021 Chambers Europe awards.
Vaibhav is responsible for coordinating pro bono matters for the GRE Group’s London team and volunteers for various projects, such as A4ID Public Procurement advice and policies as well as the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre (which strives to provide access to justice for those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to get legal advice). He is also part of the leadership team working with Face Equality International, advising on disability legislation and international human rights legislation to support people with facial disfigurements and help them to understand the legal protections which may assist them to combat discrimination.
