Yannis regularly advises banks, alternative lenders, asset managers, and borrowers on a wide range of direct lending, private credit, specialty finance, acquisition finance, and stressed/distressed finance transactions. This work includes bespoke asset-backed private credit solutions, such as hybrid credit, which combine debt and equity elements to create bespoke financing solutions for lenders and borrowers across sectors and product categories.
Yannis is also a member of Reed Smith’s EMEA emerging markets team. He advises on transactions in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. His work in emerging markets includes project finance, leveraged acquisitions, margin loans, real estate finance, commodity finance, bespoke shareholder financing arrangements, and financial accommodation provided or supported by government agencies and Development Finance Institutions (including OPIC, IFC, EBRD, EIB, and CDC).
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Yannis worked for five years in a leading Greek law firm in Athens where he advised corporates, domestic and international financial institutions, and private equity funds on a range of debt finance transactions, including acquisition finance, corporate finance, project finance, and NPL securitizations. He also worked for two years at the European Investment Fund in Luxembourg where he focused on structured finance and portfolio guarantees.
