Representative matters

Trade secrets litigation: Defended neurologist and his companies in multimillion-dollar breach of contract and trade secrets dispute brought by a former business partner in Colorado state court. Plaintiffs originally asserted 14 claims, but after a successful partial motion to dismiss and partial motion for summary judgment, only three claims remained at trial. After plaintiffs rested their case, court granted defendants’ motion for directed verdict on all remaining claims and awarded attorneys’ fees and costs.
Complex commercial litigation: Represented prominent shoe distribution company and its managers in Colorado state court litigation brought by members who sought, among other things, an adverse inference award of over $13 million. Second-chaired a five-day bench trial after which the court denied plaintiff's claims and refused to award any damages.
Landlord/tenant litigation: Represented commercial tenant in breach of contract dispute brought by former landlord in Colorado state court. Second-chaired a three-day bench trial after which the court awarded the landlord less than 5% of the total requested damages.
