On Monday, October 26, 2009, Puerto Rico’s Department of Consumer Affairs filed into law a revised Regulation on Sweepstakes that radically changes the way companies and marketers who design and administer national promotions will approach the Commonwealth. Join John Feldman, partner from Reed Smith, and Gabe Karp, Executive Vice President/General Counsel at ePrize, LLC, on Wednesday, October 28 at Noon (EDT) for the first look at this new development in U.S. promotion law.

You will learn about:

  • The language requirements for official rules
  • The removal of the certification requirement
  • The removal of notary requirements
  • The expansive, new version of the publication requirement, which includes the Internet publications
  • The elimination of the distinction between Puerto Rican promotions and national promotions for purposes of regulatory compliance
  • The new, expanded, and progressive definition of “consideration” in the context of these promotions
