Criminal justice has become a central issue of national dialogue. From policing strategies to sentencing guidelines to the prison industry, Americans have begun a rich conversation about the justice system. The presidential candidates, too, have campaigned on various platforms for reform. Not surprisingly, Vassar alumnae/i are at the forefront of thinking on these issues. At this panel, you will hear Vassar attorneys with expertise in criminal law—prosecutors, criminal defense counsel, and a leading advocate from the American Civil Liberties Union—discuss their hopes and predictions for the 2016 election and beyond.
