New this year is the four-part, in-depth examination of internal investigations. Utilizing a real-world case study, attendees will be able to investigate and gain insight on how internal investigations are approached from multiple perspectives: the board of directors, the outside counsel, the forensic accountant, and the regulators and auditors. By studying the internal investigation from each perspective, the faculty will provide a well-rounded program on what professionals need to know when dealing with audit committees, special committees, and internal investigations.

What You Will Learn

  • Recognize the key considerations to evaluate when to use in-house counsel and when to retain independent outside counsel

  • Handle critical privilege and confidentiality issues during an audit committee investigation
  • Assess how internal investigations can impact current and future audits
  • Determine all relevant parties and potential audiences for report of findings during an internal investigation
