The course is designed to help all participants in the international arbitration community understand damages issues more clearly. Through its interactive content and learning resources it will, step by step, help make the subject of damages in international arbitration more understandable and less intimidating. It will also teach participants how to then present and communicate these issues more effectively to tribunals.
In his role as faculty member, John will facilitate a panel workshop, “Aligning Expert Testimony to Tribunals Plus a Case Study on Damages Calculation in International Commercial Arbitration.”
This session will explore why expert opinions often diverge in arbitration and how arbitrators can effectively navigate these differences to reach well-founded decisions. The discussion will offer a practical, experience-based approach to managing expert evidence, enhancing clarity for all parties and improving the quality of outcomes.
In the second part of the workshop, panellists will present a worked example of damages calculation, demonstrating the application of different methods in international commercial arbitration.
