LOS ANGELES, November 30, 2016 – Reed Smith LLP today announced that Lorenzo Gasparetti will be the firm’s new Office Managing Partner (OMP) in Los Angeles. Gasparetti takes over from John Iino, who had been the firm’s OMP in Los Angeles since 2012 and was recently appointed as the firm’s Global Chair, Diversity & Inclusion.

“Lorenzo is an outstanding leader and we are delighted that he has agreed to take on the OMP role,” said Reed Smith Americas Managing Partner Michael Pollack. “His leadership style and his experience with and understanding of the California legal market make him a great choice to lead our LA office.”

Gasparetti joined Reed Smith when the firm merged with Crosby Heafey Roach and May in 2003 and for many years led the firm’s national commercial litigation practice. Gasparetti currently focuses his practice on commercial litigation affecting two of Reed Smith’s key industry groups: life sciences and financial services. He also has substantial experience in the defense of law firms and attorneys sued for legal malpractice, breaches of fiduciary duties and conflicts of interest. These professional liability cases typically involve complex underlying litigation and transactional work, such as in connection with large-scale real estate and construction projects. Gasparetti also serves as Reed Smith’s representative on the Board of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL), Los Angeles Chapter.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to support the LA office in this way,” said Gasparetti. “Following on John’s terrific work, I have some very large shoes to fill – and I am confident that we can continue to offer a great working environment for our attorneys and staff, while providing premier service to our clients. I am also very excited about helping grow our LA office with a focus on our key practice areas and industries.”
