The Law Firm of the Year award celebrates the very best in the legal profession and recognises law firms with a presence in the Americas which have offered the best service to the maritime industry over the past 12 months. Law firms were asked to demonstrate to the judges their exemplary expertise, commitment to the shipping industry, as well as examples of innovation in notable cases, restructuring, dispute resolution or finance.
Reed Smith has been serving the maritime industry since 1925 and today has offices in London, Dubai, Paris, Athens, Hong Kong, Singapore, Washington, Houston and New York. Reed Smith prides itself on its deep maritime knowledge and the group consists of more than 120 lawyers, including eight seafarers, of whom five are master mariners.
The Lloyd’s List Americas Awards recognises the best in shipping in the North, South and Central American region. All entries are assessed by a senior team of Lloyd’s List editorial staff before a list of finalists is presented to an independent panel of judges. According to Lloyd’s List: “Judging the merits of so many nominations is never easy as the standard of application is extremely high”.
Lloyd’s List is a leading source of information, analysis and knowledge for the global maritime industry.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in New York on 25 May.
