NEW YORK (June 19, 2017) –  Jennifer W. Cheng, a New York-based partner in Reed Smith’s global corporate group, has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award, presented by the Asian American Business Development Center.  Established in 2001, the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award dinner is the only such event that acknowledges the achievements of Asian American corporate executives and entrepreneurs across a wide spectrum of industries and their contributions to the U.S. economy.

Cheng, who joined the firm in 2016, focuses her practice on representing public and private companies in a wide range of corporate transactions, both domestic and cross-border, including public and private mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and corporate restructurings. She also advises on issues of corporate governance and other general corporate matters.  Her recent matters include acting for L’Oréal USA, the largest subsidiary of L’Oréal, the world’s leading beauty company, in its acquisition of key assets from Four Star Salon Services, a full-service wholesale distributor and BioTelemetry, Inc., a leading wireless mobile technology company, in its acquisition of Telcare Medical Supply, Inc and associated assets.

Recipients of the 2017 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award will be honored at a ceremony to be held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on June 20.
