LONDON – Reed Smith today welcomes the addition of Omar Al-Ali as a partner in the Energy and Natural Resources Group in London. Omar specialises in structured trade and commodities finance, and joins from Simmons & Simmons.

Omar, who has been practising law for over 15 years, has extensive experience advising clients on trade and commodities finance products across a broad range of jurisdictions and asset classes. His experience includes advising on borrowing base financings, pre-export financings, prepayment financings, numerous receivables financing structures and commodities repos, as well as a number of other aspects of trade and commodities finance, such as bilateral loan and letter of credit facilities, payment instruments, participation structures, the securitisation of receivables purchase arrangements and the treatment of certain products for regulatory capital purposes.
