Honorable is a partner in Reed Smith’s Global Energy and Natural Resources Industry Group who heads the firm’s Energy Regulatory team. She further serves as Chair of the Washington, D.C. office's Women's Initiative Network (WINRS), is a Client Inclusion Leader, and a member of the firm’s African American business inclusion group, “Sustaining and Training African American Attorneys at Reed Smith” (STAARS).
Honorable provides essential counsel in high-level matters involving critical energy, commodities, and regulatory issues, such as project development, wholesale market operations, innovation in reliability and resilience, cyber and physical security, renewables integration, energy storage integration ratemaking, and enforcement and compliance matters.
Prior to joining Reed Smith three years ago, Honorable served as a Commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for a term that expired in June 2017. Previously, she was president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, where she focused on pipeline safety, reliability, resilience, fuel diversity, and workforce diversity. Over the last decade, Honorable has testified before Congress on multiple occasions on a range of energy issues.
Today, Honorable is a highly regarded thought leader and practitioner in domestic and international energy sectors. She is a Senior Fellow with the Bipartisan Policy Center, serving on its Global Advisory Board for the Energy Futures Initiative; and she is an Ambassador for the Clean Energy Education and Empowerment Initiative, an effort co-led by the U.S. Department of Energy and the MIT Energy Initiative formed under the auspices of the International Clean Energy Ministerial, among other charges. She further serves on the Board of Southern Company.
