Forbes and partner Statista collected opinions from 60,000 American professionals working at organizations with 1,000 employees and more. Employees were asked: to rate their own companies on a scale of zero to 10; how likely they’d be to recommend their own employer to friends and family, based on factors such as working conditions and professional development; and to nominate organizations other than their own.

The 2022 list ranks the 500 large (more than 5,000 employees) and 500 midsize (1,000 to 5,000 employees) employers that received the most recommendations. Reed Smith, founded in 1877, was ranked 204 of 500 in the mid-sized category. The law firm employs more than 3,000 people.
